Billy Boyd on Walking Away From Silibil N' Brains: "We Never Got Caught"
The ending everyone assumes is wrong
Ask anyone who knows the Silibil N' Brains story how it ended and they'll tell you the duo got caught. In this clip from his JF Pictures interview, Billy Boyd corrects that: they were never caught. Nobody rumbled them, no record label exposed them, and there was no dramatic bust at the end of the con.
What actually happened is quieter. One day Billy picked up and walked away from it, because other things in his life had become more important than trying to get famous. Gavin wanted to stay and keep pushing it. The only fight the two of them ever had about it came after Billy left, and it was an argument over a phone call — not a physical fight, and not a falling-out over being found out, because they never were.
The Conversation — In His Own Words
Billy Boyd, in his own words, from the JF Pictures interview recorded October 22, 2026:
One thing I always get asked is what happened when you got caught, or like, oh, when you got caught with this. Like, we never got caught.
The reality is I one day just picked up and walked away because I didn't want to be part of it anymore.
And I had other things in my life that became more important than trying to get famous, so to say.
And Gav didn't know. He wanted to stay and he wanted to pursue it and he wanted to push it.
And the only fight and the only argument came once I walked away, and that was over a phone call.
So there was no physical fight or anything either.
And we didn't get caught, or any of this stuff.
